Thanks for joining us!
When I decided to stop updating and writing on the Fulan Sitrep blog part of my thinking at that time was that my job on the blogosphere -which I defined as educating people on the complexities of the Lake Chad Conflict- was done. However as I have come to realise, perhaps there is more that I and others that I know, who are in positions of knowledge on a myriad of issues, can do to help foster intellectual growth on conflicts, and security policy making in the geographical spaces known as Nigeria and the wider Lake Chad/Sahel.
All too often, a conflict erupts in this region and while the news media grabs the juicy tidbits and throw up bold, flashing, terrifying headlines, policy makers suddenly have to find solutions to problems they do not understand and have no ideas as to their causes.
To that end, myself and others have thought about how best to go about filling this gap which we think exists and needs to be filled, so we present this blog/site which we will try to as often as possible fill with our rambling thoughts packaged as informed insights.
The journey begins, and as Izaak Walton said, good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. Hopefully we contribute positively and greatly to the public and private policy discussions on nation/regional security, human security, stabilisation etc through this forum.
Again, thanks for joining us on this journey.
